(VIDEO) This Classic 1955 Church Song Still Gives Me Chills Every Time I Hear It

“In The Still Of The Night” is a song created by Fred Parris and first performed by his band, the Five Satins. Although it didn’t become super popular right away, it has played a lot on the radio over the years and is now seen as one of the best doo-wop songs of all time.

Throughout the years, many artists like Boyz II Men and Debbie Gibson have sung this song, and it has also appeared in a bunch of movies.

Parris wrote this famous book back in 1955 while he was in the basement of a nearby church. The video below shows a clip from a live performance of the movie “Sweet Beat.”

The song became super popular again when it was featured in the 1987 movie soundtrack for “Dirty Dancing.” In 2010, Rolling Stone placed it at number 90 on their list of the Top 500 Greatest Songs Ever. CHECK OUT THE VIDEO BELOW:
