Megyn Kelly Shreds Laura Ingraham For ‘Moving On’ From Epstein Files
Megyn Kelly is calling out MAGA media stars like Laura Ingraham for backing off the Jeffrey Epstein story now that it makes Donald Trump uncomfortable.
On her podcast, Kelly expressed her shock at Ingraham’s abrupt silence, particularly after years of vocally criticizing Epstein.
“You now have some MAGA influencers, clearly on direction of the White House, saying, ‘OK, I’m done,’” Kelly said.
She singled out Ingraham for saying she would be “moving on” from the topic.
“She was part of it,” Kelly added.
“I like Laura, but she 100 percent stood up there and fanned this flame.”
Kelly and Ingraham worked together at Fox News from 2007 to 2017 before Kelly went to NBC, then later launched her own independent platform.
Ingraham didn’t mention Epstein once on Tuesday’s edition of “The Ingraham Angle.” The only reference came in passing from a guest during a segment about Sen. Adam Schiff. Ingraham’s silence mirrored Fox’s general avoidance of the Epstein case — a stance that lines up with President Donald Trump’s position.
Trump lashed out Wednesday at those still questioning the Epstein story, calling them “weaklings” who “bought into this bullshit, hook, line, and sinker.”
Kelly, meanwhile, is positioning herself as a voice for MAGA voters angry over the DOJ’s decision to close the case and deny conspiracy claims tied to Epstein.
She got loud cheers at Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA event when she asked if people still cared about the story. Kelly also blasted Attorney General Pam Bondi, calling her handling of the case “incompetence.”
She then turned her fire on Kirk for saying he was “moving on” from Epstein “for the time being,” and played a clip of his remarks.
“Let’s not pretend that some of the president’s most loyal advocates aren’t very, very interested in Epstein. They are, all right?” Kelly said.
“However, some in the media let their loyalty to the president trump their journalistic obligation.”
Kirk responded by saying his comments were taken “out of context” and claimed he still plans to talk about Epstein — just not exclusively.
Kelly made it clear that she won’t be backing down.
She said journalists like her have a duty to keep asking questions, no matter which administration is in power.
“I’m just saying journalists — people like me who do consider themselves as journalists — you have an obligation not to just trust,” Kelly said.
“You kick the tires. That’s your job. You approach all stories and everything fed to you by an administration official, like them, love them, respect them, trust them or not, with a hefty dose of skepticism.”
Fox News anchor Bret Baier acknowledged the growing public frustration over President Trump’s push to move past Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case.
Baier kicked off “Special Report” by crediting Trump for successes on border security and trade negotiations but said the Epstein case has continued to dominate political discussions.
“I mean, the story doesn’t go away here,” Baier said, leading into a news story on the latest Epstein updates.
“President Trump says his attorney general should release whatever documents she thinks are credible concerning the late businessman and convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein,” Baier reported at the top of his show.
“It’s his latest comment in the ongoing controversy that has split many of the president’s supporters,” he went on, noting further that there is a base of Trump supporters who are still not satisfied to let this story simply go away.
Baier then brought in correspondent David Spunt, adding, “This story does not go away here.”
The Justice Department, meanwhile, has notified a federal court that it is conducting an ongoing review of documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as part of a Freedom of Information Act case filed by Judicial Watch.
